René Parmantier has been chairman of the board of the Förderverein der DFF — Deutsches Filminstitut Filmmuseum in Frankfurt for years. The Patrons Circle is one of the most important film cultural institutions in Europe. It enables exhibitions as well as digitization and educational projects, finances the purchase of exhibits and supports the DFF's commitment to film culture, particularly for young and disadvantaged people on an international level.

The Patrons Circle supports, among other things, the LUCAS Film Festival, the international festival for young film fans, which is celebrating its 47th edition this year.

René is also a member of the “Film Education Now” committee. This committee has brought together personalities from business, culture and society who support the educational work of the house politically, socially, culturally and through the acquisition of funding. example:
The film club “Blickwechsel — Jetzt! “enables unaccompanied, underage refugees to meet with Frankfurt students at the DFF once a month to watch films, eat and talk together, or even shoot small films themselves.

René Parmantier is also on the Board of Trustees of the Toby E. Rhodes Foundation. Toby E. Rhodes is co-founder of the Berlin International Film Festival in 1951 and later official representative of the United States. On December 1, 2005, he received the Wilhelm Leuschner Medal from the State of Hesse. In doing so, the state of Hesse honored Rode's services to the democratization and reconstruction of Germany after the Second World War. Other awards he received included the Medal de la Reconnaissance Française, the US Bronze Star and the Croix de guerre avec étoile d'argent, Luxembourg.

In 2023, we supported “Children for a Better Future.” CHILDREN finances, among other things, meals for children in vulnerable social districts for whom healthy eating is not a matter of course on a daily basis.
